Sunday Night Football, often considered the premier NFL game of the week, consistently ranks as one of the highest-rated TV programs in the States during the peak of the regular football season. Its popularity extends beyond avid fans, attracting a broad audience and contributing significantly to NBC’s primetime success.
SNF features marquee matchups between high-profile teams or division rivals, making them the most anticipated games on the NFL schedule alongside ESPN’s Monday Night Football and Prime Video’s Thursday Night Football coverage.
The Football Night in America pregame show with Maria Taylor as host is another highlight of NBC’s Sunday primetime broadcasts, with analysis and discussions on the day’s game, plus a halftime show that recaps the first half, offering further insights and highlights.
As for the SNF broadcast team for this season, joining Cris Collinsworth on the call is Mike Tirico, the new lead play-by-play announcer, taking over from the legendary Al Michaels. Melissa Stark joins the crew as the sideline reporter, replacing Michele Tafoya. She’ll provide game updates, player interviews, and on-field insights.

Where to Watch Sunday Night Football on Roku?
Sunday Night Football airs on NBC, one of the biggest (and the oldest) American television networks. It has been the home of the weekend football games for nearly two decades since the network won the bid for the broadcasting rights in 2006, replacing ESPN.
The 2023 National Football League regular-season schedule consists of 18 SNF matchups, with NBC Sports at the broadcasting helm. Telemundo and Universo, the Hispanic siblings of NBC, are where fans can catch the Sunday night games and studio coverage in Español.
Besides SNF, NBC Sports presents two Thursday night games, one on the opening day and the other on Thanksgiving. The rest is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Read our guide to Thursday Night Football on Roku for more details.
As for where to watch Sunday Night Football on Roku, you’ve got plenty of options, the primary being NBCUniversal’s Peacock and the NBC/NBC Sports app. Let’s start with the one that makes a no-brainer for most.
Watch Sunday Night Football on Roku via Peacock
The 17th season of NBC’s Sunday Night Football is live-streaming on Peacock weekly. It includes the highly-anticipated matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers in Week 16 of the NFL regular season, exclusive to the streaming platform.
Viewers also get access to the live streams of the NFL Kickoff and Thanksgiving Day games alongside the network’s playoff coverage. Moreover, you can catch NBC’s Football Night in America pre-game programming and the exclusive Sunday Night Football Final post-game show on Peacock.
Of course, the service expects viewers to pay for its ad-supported Premium or the ad-free Premium Plus plan for live football and other sports. The good news is Peacock Premium remains a relatively affordable subscription even after the recent price hike.
And with access to the endless catalog of on-demand films, series, documentaries, and originals the streamer is renowned for, Peacock will keep you hooked for the rest of the week.

Watch Sunday Night Football on Roku For Free
With your local free-to-air NBC affiliate broadcasting Sunday Night Football in high definition, you can tune in to the primetime matchups on your Roku TV at no cost with a digital OTA antenna. The antenna itself isn’t free, but it’s a one-time investment that’ll provide you with free access to all the OTA channels in your area, meaning more football coverage.
That’s assuming you live within range of a broadcast TV tower, which you can verify via the ReceptionMaps website or Free Signal TV’s Reception Map tool.
And if you’re lucky to be in a metropolitan area, you should also be able to watch the SNF games in Spanish through Telemundo for free.
Of course, you may not like going down the antenna route or even have a Roku-powered Smart TV with a coaxial input. In that case, the only way to watch Sunday Night Football on Roku for free is by signing up for a FuboTV or YouTube TV free trial, giving you limited-time access to NBC and other channels for your football fix.
